Introducing Ingots

Zinc is an element known by the abbreviation Zn. It is the 23rd element in the Earth’s crust and is a bluish-white metal that darkens due to humidity and produces a glossy green color during combustion. Zinc is the fourth most widely used metal in the world after iron, aluminum and copper. Zinc is a metal of the fourth period and the twelfth group (IIB) of the periodic table of the elements, with atomic number 30. Its melting and boiling points are 4/83/907 and 907 ° C, respectively. On its pure surface, it is a soft white metal with the ability to hammer with a bluish-gray glaze, soluble in acids, bases, and insoluble in water. Zinc metal has been used in various applications due to its functional properties such as reactivity with iron, corrosion resistance, electrochemical properties, low melting point, fluidity, strength, alloyability, ductility, high tensile strength, nutrient, curing, etc. Is.

Application of zinc ingots

Application

About 12 million tons of zinc are produced annually in the world, more than half of this amount is used in the galvanizing industry, about 14% is used in zinc-based alloys (casting industry) and 10% is used in the production of brass and bronze alloys. The rest is used in compounds such as zinc oxide and zinc sulfate.
The main applications of zinc metal are: construction industry, transportation, food, electrical and electronic appliances, cement making, dentistry, match making, flooring, pottery, rubber accessories, automobile manufacturing, kitchen appliances, galvanizing (steel coating) Preparation of bronze and brass alloys, soldering, toothpaste cans.

Among the uses of zinc in various industries, the following can be mentioned:
. Zinc is used as part of battery tanks, in foundry molds and in the automotive industry
. Zinc oxide is used as a white pigment in blue and various paints.
. Zinc chloride is used as a deodorant (body spray) and as a wood preservative.
. Zinc sulfide is used in light pigments to make clock hands and other objects that glow in the dark.
. Methyl zinc is used in the synthesis of organic matter.
. A mixture of carbonates and zinc silicates is used in solutions used to treat acne.

Zinc ingot production process

The company produces zinc ingots with 99.99% purity through hydrometallurgical processes and the use of zinc minerals, crushing processes – solution and refining – electrolysis, melting and casting. At first, after unloading at the crushing depot, the ore is converted into powder by passing through the crushing line and transferred to the soil warehouse for slurry and leaching operations. In the solution unit, the crushed mineral is dissolved in the form of zinc sulfate solution in make-up tanks after dissolution and leaching process and purification from disturbing process impurities, and is directed to the electrolysis hall. In this section, using direct current. And zinc sulfate solution cathode and anode plates from the solubilization unit pass a high ampere direct current using lead anodes and aluminum cathodes, which causes the main solution cation, zinc, to settle on the surface of the aluminum cathodes. These cathodes are removed at a certain time (every 12 hours) and the sheeting operation is performed. The sheets produced in the casting unit are melted by a rotary kiln casting machine and converted into 25 kg ingots using a molding conveyor machine.
